You can tell a lot about a person by the cereal they eat. You just have to notice the details.
At night, when I'm hungry I pull out a box of generic Bran Flakes. I add raisins and light soy milk.
What does this tell you about me?
1. I'm not using dairy products, so I might be a vegetarian. (Yes, I am.)
2. I buy generic products -- a frugal choice. So I'm frugal (read: cheap).
3. My cereal is vitamin-enriched. I feel the need for enrichment.
4. Raisins and Bran have a lot of fiber. I care about fiber. I'm health-conscious.
5. Raisin Bran has a lot of sugar. But my own homemade blend does not.
Although I'm not sugar-free, I am trying to keep my sugar intake moderately low.
6. When I want cereal, I pick something basic. I don't go for little marshmallows or fancy shapes.
7. I go for the straightforward, tried and true, simple classics. Flakes, raisins, milk. Good enough.
8. I'm pragmatic.
9. I buy cereals without toys. That's because I don't play with toys.
10. But I do like the educational facts I can learn on the backs of cereal boxes. That's because I'm a life-long learner. I've discovered all kinds of things from the backs of cereal boxes. From this box of Bran Flakes, I learned:
- the first President to be photographed
- the first President born in a hospital
- the only President who never married
11. Do you know who these are? Exactly my point. I like having interesting bits of information that may come in handy. It makes me feel clever.
12. I like feeling clever. Every once in a while, I have a "smart moment" which makes me dance a little jig. It's fun to feel smart.

What does your cereal say about you?

Probably that I'm cheap, b/c I rarely spend money on it. But when I do, my favorite is Life cereal in all it's sugary-goodness. :)
The basic starter would be either oats (fine or rolled) or a bran flake variety (yes, cheap, all the way!), with slivers of nuts, sometimes and a few, as I am not supposed to have them but love their flavor and texture; then, I may add raisins or cranberries or blueberries. And if I do not have raisins or berries, I slice an apple for on the side or eat a bunch of grapes.
Once in a blue moon, I will eat cream-of-wheat with a pat of brown sugar and soy milk and buttered toast on the side.
Ah, breakfast! How I love it! Mostly my favourite start to the day consists of rolled oats porridge with a few scoops of protein powder mixed in. Sometimes I go through stages of piling on berries and a blob of natural yogurt, other times I fling in handful of dried fruit and nuts. What does this tell you about me? Well, I'm a natural girl at heart, wholesome is my middle name. I have learned that protein at the start of my day reduces blood sugar lows and the whole concoction is delicious, fibre filled and wheat-free.
My cereal says; What's on sale, what tastes good, brand name, does it sound healthy kind of.
#1 winner -- Special K in all its flavored variants, because it's periodically on sale where I shop and I usually buy several boxes that last til it's on sale again.
Guess that makes me a cheap junky junkie.
I eat cereal more as a snack than a breakfast meal.
I like pumpkin flaxseed cereal with skim milk. But more often mixed in with Greek non-fat yogurt, some dried blueberries & some diced peaches. Mmmm.
Grape Nuts with milk almost every morning says I like to crunch things. Plus, I also like the fiber. Happy me!
